Whether it's office meeting games, or Christmas games for the office, there's no question that giving your team a little downtime to have fun and let loose is one of the best things leadership can do to boost morale and increase productivity.

It's just common knowledge that when people feel better at the office, they produce more. I know I did!

One of the things I noticed during my 20 plus years in the workforce was that people were starting to shy away from the traditional gift giving during the holiday seasons.

The company funded dinners turned to pot lucks and the gift giving virtually stopped as people either couldn't afford it anymore or they just didn't want to hurt anyones feelings.

The one constant that remained though were office party games during the holidays. People are competitive by nature and if nothing else, enjoy getting away from the daily grind of work for a few minutes of fun and entertainment.

You may be familiar with one of the most popular office xmas party games, the White Elephant Game.

What I like about these type of Christmas games for the office is that they take the pressure of people to buy expensive gifts and allows people to regift items they already have.

This is especially nice around the holidays when people are already feeling pressure to spend money they don't have.

Office Meeting Games

Of all the office meeting games I every played, I think my favorite would have to be an icebreaker called "Truth or Lies Game". In this game the facilitator had everyone write down two true statements about themselves and one statement that was a lie.

Then each person read their three statements and the people in the group had to guess which statement was a lie. It's a fun and easy office game that can help the group get to know eachother and break the ice.
