In the Face of Adversity
Overcome adversity with prayer, praise, confession, and exercise
Faith In the Face of Adversity
Misfortune is a part of life. "Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble." Job 14:1
We don't like adversity. We don't choose misfortune. And we certainly don't welcome problems.
Financial troubles ruin lives. Sickness and disease cause early death. Family dysfunction inflicts lifelong pain and
suffering.
Talk shows make millions airing the misfortune of people all over the world.
Thankfully, for the believer, there is hope and encouragement in the scripture.
"For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in the pavilion; in the secret of
His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me up upon a rock." Psalm 27:5
Satan wants us to believe that we are alone in our adversity. But we are never alone.
"I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." Hebrews 13:5
Getting Through Our Adversity
There are several things you can do when you're "going through" hard times. Remember that the situation is only temporary.
"Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all."
- Listen to praise and worship music. God inhabits the praises of His people. By worshiping you will invite God into your circumstances.
- Go to church. Be around people was the last thing I wanted to do, when I was having problems. But, fellowshipping; surrounding yourself by believers; and hearing the word from your pastor; will give you a lift.
- Take a walk. Put some worship music or a teaching lesson into your CD player and head for streets. Exercise will help reduce stress and relieve anxiety.
- Read the word. Highlight scriptures in your bible that relate to your situation. If you’re having a health challenge, find all of the scriptures you can about healing and health. Read them whenever you feel discouraged. Faith increases from hearing the word.
- Create a faith confession. Use the scriptures you find to create a personal faith confession unique to your situation.

Keep this up until your breakthrough manifests. Don't focus o your problem. Keep your mind on God's promises. Keep
confessing; keep praying; and believe with all your heart.
Be blessed!
