Sample Prayers Before Meals

PRAYER BEFORE MEALS Please don't let your before-meal prayers be looooonnnggg and drawn out.

More than likely, your guest or family will become irritated and the purpose of your prayer will be lost.

Though there are times when a longer, more formal prayer may be more readily accepted(Thanksgiving or Christmas), a simple prayer of thanks for the meal, the cook, and the fellowship is more than enough.

Short Prayer
"Father we thank you for this food. We thank you for the ones who prepared it. Thank you for blessing us to come together in fellowship. In Jesus Name, Amen."

Simple Prayer
"Father we thank you for this meal. May it be used for the nourishment of our bodies. In Jesus name, Amen."

Kids Prayer
"God is great. God is good. Lord we thank You. For our food. Amen."
