Tower of Babel Ice Breaker

Encourage Teamwork: Tower of Babel Ice Breaker

TOWER OF BABEL STORY GENESIS 11

The passage explains why we have so many different languages.

The people came together and decided to build a tower that reached the heavens. This tower would serve as a place for worshiping the sun and the stars.

The Lord saw what they were doing and said, "Behold, the people are coming together, nothing they imagine to do will be held back from them, because they speak on language.

"Let us go down and confuse their language, so that they cannot understand each other's speech."

And the Lord confused their language, in order to stop them from building.

HOW TO PLAY THE TOWER OF BABEL GAME:

Allowing any where from 15-30 minutes, your team is to build the highest possible tower of Babel, using anything you allow in the room (preferably not furniture).

You may want to provide a bunch of stuff like books, bibles, bowls, etc. After the leader's signal the construction is stopped. You might want to provide tape and glue or something for adhesion.

If the tower falls, and you have some more time, just begin from the very beginning. The number of points received by the players depends on the number of itemsit took to build the tower of Babel.

Make it even more interesting, by instructing the teams to build the tower without speaking!
