About My Work From Home Christian Business
About My Home Christian Business
UPDATE!...SO ON APRIL 23, 2010, I QUIT MY JOB! YES, THAT'S RIGHT. I FIRED MY BOSS!
Needless to say, I've had some serious challenges in my life, admittedly brought on by some very bad choices.
But I'm older and wiser now (smile). And thank God, He patiently works with me daily.
One thing I've always known, is that God had something for me to do.
In my own little way, feel like I am finally doing something to help spread the Gospel.
I've received so many emails from you expressing how blessed you are by this site. God gets all of the glory. But, thank you so much for the encouragement!!
I'll never forget the day I received a negative email. It almost broke my heart. They had totally misunderstood my purpose.
But not ten minutes later two very wonderful emails of encouragement appeared in my in-box. God bless you!
I have to admit, in the beginning I hesitated about building a Christian Game website. After all who would visit?
Thousands, that's who! We're talking between 45, 000 and 55,000 visitors each month! Praise God!
This site is less than a year old and it's already out-ranking sites 10 times it's age. Out of 56 million sites, it ranks a little over 675,000 (UPDATE: 594,994)! It may
not mean much to a web guru, but it means a heck of alot to little ole me (smile).
Anyway....more on that later. Like I was saying, before I got excited, I almost didn't build this particular site.
But something in me, I believe the Holy Spirit, kept nudging me to move forward.
When I tried explaining my at home Christian business idea to friends and family, they frowned and looked confused, "A Christian Game website?"
But, Why not, I thought? We'd had several parties where I was asked to create Christian-themed games and printable activity sheets.
It just seemed logical. And it would also give me a captive
audience so that I could share in prayer requests and offer scripture references. I could build a Christian game website and share God's word.
...without being preachy, like some of us tend to be(smile). Forgive me if I get that way sometimes.
Besides, I love praying for people and I enjoy
helping people. What better venue than the internet?
So there I was, with nothing but a seemingly insignificant concept and a passion to share God.
Nope...I didn't have an ounce of web-building experience. I knew how to type and that was about it. So, I started searching for web site building programs.
Having no clue what I was looking for, I tried several "trial" programs. They were either low quality or didn't offer enough help for my low skill level.
Finally, I believe God led me to Site Build It.
I didn't try it right away. But I kept visiting the website everyday for weeks, reading the case studies and testimonials.
Then I visited the forums and read the case studies some more. There were comments like, "If I can do it, anyone can do it". "You don't have to know anything about building sites". "I love SBI".
It seemed perfect. But sounded almost too good to be true. But finally, after much self-debate and prayer, I decide to go for it! And I haven't regretted it a day since.
I started out with the two for one and started my first site, NOT the Christian site you see now. I put my passion on the back burner and tried something else. And guess what? To this day, that first site still does not get as many visits as this Christian Game site!
So, I kindly stopped focusing on the first site and began working on the idea that I was really passionate about from the beginning. A Christian site.
I blocked out what everyone else had said. No matter what the nay-sayers said, I was moving forward with the Christian game site concept.
I began with the mindset of building a ministry, not a business.
My feeling was, "Lord,it's not about money. If just one person's life is blessed by this site, then I will know that it was not in vain."
I've been so blessed to be able to pray for people all over the world; offer words of encouragement; and allow God to work through me in a very creative and unique way.
On top of that, wouldn't you know, that God did something more. He started to provide me with increase.
"Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all of these things
will be added unto you."
Now, this little Christian site, built by an absolute novice, generates enough income to pay my Mortgage (December 2007).
*Update: My earnings for December 2008 were more than my 9-5 take home pay!***
SO ON APRIL 23, 2010, I QUIT MY JOB!
YES, THAT'S RIGHT. I FIRED MY BOSS!
Gladly, I sow offerings, from my earnings, into both my church and into one of my favorite TV ministries. After all we are blessed to be a blessing, right?
I now see, that God is answering several of my prayers at once.
- He's showing me how to promote His Kingdom and share the word with others.
- He's providing me with seed to sow into the kingdom.
- He's blessing me with creative ways to generate income from home.
- And He's opened the door for me to some day work from home doing something that I love. UPDATE: I NOW WORK FROM HOME
For once in my life, I can truly see past working 8-5 for someone else just to make a living. I love doing this and I would do it for absolutely nothing! But God doesn't work that way. When we obey and serve Him, we are blessed for it.
God is truly an Awesome God!
So let me encourage you...If God has placed a ministry on your heart, Go For It! Don't wait for others to approve. Because chances are, they won't understand the vision that God has given you.
For me, this is just the beginning. I have many more ideas in mind about getting the Gospel out there.
There are many more sites to come. And I can't wait to share my next testimonies of how God is using them to bless others.
If you have a dream. Whether it's a book; a home Christian business; a teen ministry; or whatever...Go for it! If you seek God, He will bless it to succeed. Don't worry about how silly your dream sounds.
Joseph, from the Bible was a dreamer too. So we're in good company. The thing to remember is this, God gives us dreams, but it's up to us to pursue them.
So if you have a vision or
a dream. Go for it! Forget the Naysayers. Pray about it and move forward! God's got your back!
Take Care and Be blessed.
The story in this video is what inspired me to give my dream a try...
